Animal diversity and invertebrates

Alphabetical glossary of the terms OpenStax defines for animal body plans, symmetry, embryonic development and the invertebrate groups. Each card is one term and its definition; the deck is a lexicon in alphabetical order, not a survey phylum by phylum, and it covers only the terms the two chapter glossaries happen to define.

Este mazo se modificó al incorporarlo: Entries were taken from the end-of-chapter glossaries of chapters 27, 28 and gathered into one deck; the chapter structure of the book is not reproduced. HTML formatting was stripped to plain text, and superscripts and subscripts were converted to the corresponding Unicode characters so that a charge or an index is not lost (H⁺, not H+; T₄, not T4). An entry was dropped when its definition is shorter than 30 characters or longer than 400 characters, when it contains an image, a table or a mathematical formula that is not reproduced here, when it refers to a figure, a table or another chapter, when it is dated by wording such as "currently" or "as of", when it is a bare cross-reference to another term, or when a superscript could not be converted faithfully. An automatic duplicate filter compared terms and definitions after lowercasing, removing parentheses and reducing plurals to singulars, and also dropped a term or a definition already used by another Memoquiz deck built from OpenStax; that filter does not catch pairs that say the same thing in different words, so the pairs it left behind were removed by hand after review. A second manual pass removed entries whose definition is factually wrong in the source glossary — including errata on geological boundary dates, on shell coiling axes and on the germ layer a coelom forms from — and entries whose text is ungrammatical or inconsistently capitalised. Nothing was rewritten: an entry we could not vouch for was removed, not corrected, because we cannot certify a wording the source does not carry. Each deck is capped at 150 entries and holds at least 30. The wording of every definition that was kept is unchanged.
