Key-term glossary of the nervous system, taken word for word from OpenStax Anatomy and Physiology, first edition: neurons and nervous tissue, the anatomy of the brain and spinal cord, and the autonomic division. Each card carries a term on the front and the book’s own definition on the back.

このデッキは取り込み時に変更されています: Entries were taken from the Key Terms glossaries of chapters 12, 13 and 15 and gathered into one deck; the chapter structure of the book is not reproduced. HTML formatting was stripped to plain text. The wording of every definition that was kept is unchanged: a card was either kept exactly as the source wrote it, or dropped. Nothing was rewritten, and no error found in the source was corrected — correcting it would mean publishing a claim that can no longer be attributed to anyone. Automatic filters dropped entries shorter than 25 characters or longer than 400, entries referring to a figure, a table or another chapter, entries repeating a definition already kept, entries carrying a digit — and with them every date, quantity and figure —, time-dependent wordings, multiple-choice turns of phrase, negative questions, and answers made of a single ambiguous word or a bare acronym. A term already served by another Memoquiz deck built from these books was dropped as well, in either direction, and the deck is capped at 150 entries. These filters look at the shape of a card only; by construction, none of them can detect an error of content. This deck is a rebuild of a deck withdrawn from the catalogue after review found factual errors coming from the source. Those errors were found by people reading the cards, not by any filter. A later adversarial review of this rebuild found more of them, still coming from the source: a vessel given the wrong surface of the brain stem, a splanchnic nerve given the wrong ganglion, a misspelt brain region, a word altered in the source so that the definition no longer means anything, and pairs of terms whose definitions state the same fact twice. Those cards were removed, not repaired, and the duplicate check now covers repetitions inside this deck as well as repetitions across the catalogue. No claim of factual verification is made for the cards that remain. They reproduce the source faithfully; where the source is wrong, this deck is wrong with it. Any further error found will be removed the same way.
