Japanese kanji: fourth year of primary school
The kanji taught in the fourth year of Japanese primary school (the kyōiku list, 202 characters in the official programme); this deck holds 201 of them, one having been dropped in review. The front of the card is the character on its own. The back gives its main meanings, then its on readings in katakana and its kun readings in hiragana. In a kun reading the dot separates what the kanji itself writes from the okurigana that follows it: 高.い is read takai and written 高い. The order of the cards comes from the source data and cannot be checked from this file, so no ordering is claimed.
-
Kanji japoneses: cuarto año de primaria
Los kanji que se enseñan en cuarto año de la escuela primaria japonesa (lista kyōiku, 202 caracteres en el programa oficial). En el anverso, el carácter solo. En una lectura kun, el punto separa lo que escribe el kanji del okurigana que lo sigue: 高.い se lee takai y se escribe 高い. Las tarjetas están ordenadas por la frecuencia del carácter en la prensa japonesa, primero las más útiles.

-

-
Mandarin Chinese: two-character words 401 to 600
The next two hundred two-character words of spoken Mandarin by frequency, picking up exactly where the first four hundred stop: study, money, weather, the body, the words that carry an opinion. Pinyin and English meaning on the back, at most three meanings per card so the answer stays short enough to recall.
-
Mandarin Chinese: two-character words 601 to 800
Two hundred more two-character words by frequency, after the first six hundred. This is where a learner leaves the survival vocabulary behind: abstract nouns, verbs of thought and of decision, the connectives of an argument. Pinyin and English meaning on the back.

Japanese kanji: third year of primary school
The kanji taught in the third year of Japanese primary school (the kyōiku list, 200 characters in the official programme). The front of the card is the character on its own. The back gives its main meanings, then its on readings in katakana and its kun readings in hiragana. In a kun reading the dot separates what the kanji itself writes from the okurigana that follows it: 高.い is read takai and written 高い. Cards are ordered by how often the character appears in Japanese newspapers, so the most useful ones come first.
-
Kanji japoneses: terceiro ano do ensino fundamental
Os kanji ensinados no terceiro ano da escola primária japonesa (lista kyōiku, 200 caracteres no programa oficial). Na frente, o caractere sozinho. No verso, seus significados principais, depois suas leituras on em katakana e suas leituras kun em hiragana. Numa leitura kun, o ponto separa o que o kanji escreve do okurigana que vem depois dele: 高.い lê-se takai e escreve-se 高い.
い se lit takai et s’écrit 高い.
い se lit takai et s’écrit 高い. Les cartes suivent l’ordre de l’indice de fréquence de presse de KANJIDIC2 ; cet indice n’est ni affiché sur les cartes ni exporté, le paquet ne promet donc rien sur l’utilité relative des caractères.
-
Portuguese nouns in everyday use
Everyday Portuguese nouns with their English meaning, taken from the English Wiktionary. Dictionary headwords only: no plurals, no inflected forms, and the commonest words first. The two norms are mixed and nothing labels them: European forms such as equipa and telemóvel sit beside Brazilian ones such as banheiro and terremoto. The back of a card is the short Wiktionary definition kept as written, so it can give one sense among several rather than the single commonest translation. Cards are asked in one direction only, Portuguese to English, because many of the English glosses are too general to be answered backwards.
-
Kanji japoneses: quarto ano do ensino fundamental
Os kanji ensinados no quarto ano da escola primária japonesa (lista kyōiku, 202 caracteres no programa oficial). Na frente, o caractere sozinho. No verso, seus significados principais, depois suas leituras on em katakana e suas leituras kun em hiragana. Numa leitura kun, o ponto separa o que o kanji escreve do okurigana que vem depois dele: 高.い lê-se takai e escreve-se 高い. As cartas seguem a ordem de frequência do caractere na imprensa japonesa, as mais úteis primeiro.
-
Spanish nouns in everyday use
Everyday Spanish nouns with their English meaning, taken from the English Wiktionary. Single-word dictionary headwords only: no plurals, no inflected forms. Each back is the Wiktionary definition copied word for word, British or American spelling as the entry had it. The order follows word frequency measured on the Tatoeba corpus, so the commonest words come first. Cards run from Spanish to English only.
-
Earth, rocks and weather
Science exam questions on rocks and minerals, erosion, volcanoes and earthquakes, oceans and rivers, weather and climate, from the ARC Easy set.
-
Noms italiens courants
-
Italian nouns in everyday use
Everyday Italian nouns with their English meaning, taken from the English Wiktionary. Dictionary headwords only: no plurals, no inflected forms, and the commonest words first. Each answer is the first sense of that Wiktionary entry, shortened but never rewritten, so it is a dictionary sense and not always the whole everyday range of the word.
-
Noms anglais courants
-
Japanese kanji: second year of primary school
The kanji taught in the second year of Japanese primary school (the kyōiku list, 160 characters in the official programme).
-
Kanji japonais : deuxième année du primaire
Les kanji enseignés en deuxième année de l’école primaire japonaise (liste kyōiku, 160 caractères au programme officiel). Au recto, le caractère seul. Au verso, ses principaux sens, puis ses lectures on en katakana et ses lectures kun en hiragana. Dans une lecture kun, le point sépare ce que note le kanji de l’okurigana qui le suit : 高.い se lit takai et s’écrit 高い.
い se lee takai y se escribe 高い. Las tarjetas están ordenadas por la frecuencia del carácter en la prensa japonesa, primero las más útiles.

Mandarin Chinese: the 150 most frequent characters
The 150 single characters you meet most often in spoken Mandarin, each with its pinyin and its English meaning. Only characters that stand on their own as a word are included; characters with more than one reading are left out, so every card has exactly one right answer.

Au recto, le caractère seul. Au verso, ses principaux sens, puis ses lectures on en katakana et ses lectures kun en hiragana. Dans une lecture kun, le point sépare ce que note le kanji de l’okurigana qui le suit : 高.い se lit takai et s’écrit 高い.

The community wording is reproduced verbatim, minor typographic quirks included, because a source card is never rewritten here; an entry found to teach a wrong fact is removed instead.

-
History Trivia — Easy
Forty-one history questions from the community-built Open Trivia Database, easy tier. What the pack covers follows what contributors happened to submit, not a syllabus: it leans hard on modern Western and military history — the two world wars, twentieth-century leaders, revolutions and independences — with a thinner scattering of antiquity, the Byzantine and Ottoman empires, and nineteenth-century Britain and America. Answers are dates, places and proper names. One question per card, answered in full: the multiple-choice distractors of the original are dropped.
-
Harder science questions
Grade-school science exam questions from the harder, reasoning-heavy half of the ARC set: each one takes a step of reasoning rather than a fact you either know or do not. Physics, chemistry, biology, Earth and space science. Each card asks one question and answers it in full — no multiple-choice letters, no figure or table to look at, and no card resting on a date, a quantity or a number.

Grade-school science questions
Thirty-three science questions from real grade-school exams, taken from the ARC Easy set. Each card asks one question and gives the correct answer in words, with no option letters and no answer grid.
