Five cards from this deck
Taken from the published archive, unedited. A deck page that shows no card says nothing.
-
Front bomb calorimeterBack device designed to measure the energy change for processes occurring under conditions of constant volume; commonly used for reactions involving solid and gaseous reactants or products
-
Front calorimeterBack device used to measure the amount of heat absorbed or released in a chemical or physical process
-
Front calorimetryBack process of measuring the amount of heat involved in a chemical or physical process
-
Front chemical thermodynamicsBack area of science that deals with the relationships between heat, work, and all forms of energy associated with chemical and physical processes
-
Front endothermic processBack chemical reaction or physical change that absorbs heat

This deck was modified when it was brought in: Entries were taken from the end-of-chapter glossaries of chapters 5, 16 and gathered into one deck; the chapter structure of the book is not reproduced. HTML formatting was stripped to plain text, and superscripts and subscripts were converted to the corresponding Unicode characters so that a charge or an index is not lost (H⁺, not H+; T₄, not T4). An entry was dropped when its definition is shorter than 30 characters or longer than 400 characters, when it contains an image, a table or a mathematical formula that is not reproduced here, when it refers to a figure, a table or another chapter, when it is dated by wording such as "currently" or "as of", when it is a bare cross-reference to another term, or when a superscript could not be converted faithfully. Duplicates were removed on the term and on the definition alike, both compared after lowercasing, removing parentheses and reducing plurals to singulars; a term or a definition already used by another Memoquiz deck built from OpenStax was dropped as well. Each deck is capped at 150 entries and holds at least 30. The wording of every definition that was kept is unchanged.
