Animal respiration and circulation
Glossary terms and their definitions on gas exchange and circulation in animals: airways and lung mechanics, lung volumes and spirometry, oxygen and carbon dioxide transport, blood vessels and blood components, and the chambers, valves and cycle of the mammalian heart. The deck holds 65 term-to-definition cards taken from the end-of-chapter glossaries of OpenStax Biology, first edition; it is a vocabulary deck, not a course, and does not cover the chapter text, figures or numerical exercises.

Ce paquet a été modifié lors de son intégration : Entries were taken from the end-of-chapter glossaries of chapters 39 and 40 and gathered into one deck; the chapter structure of the book is not reproduced. HTML formatting was stripped to plain text, and superscripts and subscripts were converted to the corresponding Unicode characters so that a charge or an index is not lost (H⁺, not H+; T₄, not T4). An entry was dropped when its definition is shorter than 30 characters or longer than 400 characters, when it contains an image, a table or a mathematical formula that is not reproduced here, when it refers to a figure, a table or another chapter, when it is dated by wording such as "currently" or "as of", when it is a bare cross-reference to another term, or when a superscript could not be converted faithfully. Duplicates were removed on the term and on the definition alike, both compared after lowercasing, removing parentheses and reducing plurals to singulars; a term or a definition already used by another Memoquiz deck built from OpenStax was dropped as well. A later editorial review of this deck removed 23 further entries that the automated filters had let through: entries whose stripped markup was left broken or whose index could not be rendered in Unicode, entries whose definition repeated the term, near-duplicate pairs that differed only by a tail of the sentence, and entries whose source definition is factually wrong or misleading for a learner who has no way to detect the error from the card. Such entries were removed, never rewritten: we do not correct the source. Each deck is capped at 150 entries and holds at least 30. The wording of every definition that was kept is unchanged.
