Dieser Stapel wurde bei der Aufnahme verändert: Extracted from CC-CEDICT and reworked by Memoquiz. (1) Selection: one- and two-character entries, ordered by the zh_cn 2018 frequency list of hermitdave/FrequencyWords (MIT). Single characters are further filtered on how often they appear inside longer words, which removes the noise a subtitle corpus brings up. The three decks split that pool: single characters in one, the first two hundred two-character words in the next, the following two hundred in the last — so a deck of two-character words holds nothing but two-character words. (2) Pinyin: the numbered notation of CC-CEDICT (`han4 zi4`) is converted to accented pinyin (`hàn zì`), `u:` becomes `ü`, and a final erhua is attached to the syllable carrying it (`zhe4 r5` becomes `zhèr`). (3) Definitions: at most three glosses and at most 55 characters on the back of a card, pinyin included, so that the answer is short enough to be recalled and graded. CC-CEDICT groups synonyms with semicolons inside a single sense, so glosses are counted individually, not by sense. Classifier notes (`CL:…`) are removed; senses that point at another entry (variants, abbreviations, cross-references) and vulgar or sexual senses are dropped. An entry whose FIRST sense falls to those filters is dropped whole, so that a secondary sense is never served as if it were the main one. Entries with more than one reading, bound forms and proper nouns are excluded whole. (4) No two cards in a deck carry the same answer: when trimming leaves two entries with an identical back, only the more frequent one is kept. Only the simplified script is kept; the traditional Chinese of the source is not carried over.
